CASE STUDIES
wizard web management
Area of assistance: Website Management
Technology involved: Macromedia DreamWeaver, SQL Server, Active Server
Page Technology, VBScript
Problem: Many clients want to be able to excercise immediate control
over the information on their websites, but they can't afford to spend the time
necessary to learn HTML, Javascript, Visual Basic and other web coding languages
and processes, or file transfer protocol.
Analysis: As we create a client's site, we can arrange it so that certain
parts are database-driven. The components of each page are pulled from various
parts of an Access or SQL database. Part of this organization would include
sections of text modifiable by the client using a series of forms accessible
by a username and pasword. The client can gain access to various sections of
their site and modify text as needed without having to write code; the client
simply fills in text boxes.
Strategy: A template surrounds each page of a site that contains the
headers and footers and other styles, while the body of text is drawn from the
forms filled out by the client.
Changes can be made at any time. The client simply logs in at an admin page
and is taken through a series of forms he or she can either edit or pass over.
Once changes are made, an "apply" button is clicked, and the site
is updated immediately.
Conclusion: This solution allows clients to control their web content
firsthand and in real time. No phone calls, no service requests, and time saved
for us and our clients.

provided it, please contact
